Congratulations on a job well done.
The Lankershim Reading Room is one of only two buildings remaining from the once-vast Lankershim Ranch that was spread out across the San Fernando Valley. The Dedication ceremony and celebration on Saturday, May 1, included the unveiling of the plaque designating the building as Los Angeles Cultural Monument #978, presented by Ken Bernstein. Rescued, moved to the site of the Andres Pico Adobe and fully restored by the San Fernando Valley Historical Society, the unusual octagonal structure has been authentically furnished with donated items from the old Lankershim estate. It has been a nine-year undertaking by many dedicated Historical Society volunteers and contributors.
