Lockheed Aircraft Company’s History 1912-1996
Speaker: Robert (Bob) Ream
Robert Beam started his career at this famous aircraft company in 1971. He contributed to several different projects including the U-2 and SR-71 spy planes. He was a provisioning analyst – Sr. staff on the global sustainment team when he retired in 2016.
Lockheed was a major presence in the San Fernando Valley during a time when numerous aircraft and defense industries flourished in the area.
Bob will be sharing the history of the company from its inception, development and early years through their involvement in the war efforts and transition to civilian aircrafts, to their merger with Martin Marietta and their departure from the Valley.
