From his wife Janne, he passed away from complications of congestive heart failure and amyliodosos.
Amyloidosis is a group of diseases in which abnormal proteins, known as amyloid proteins, accumulate in organs such as the heart, the kidneys, the nervous system or the gastrointestinal tract.
We will notify folks of any service information. The Museum will be planning one or more special events to spread the cheer on his wonderful life and on how many people he touched as a professor and leader of The Museum.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of the founder of the Museum of the San Fernando Valley, Dr. Gerald Fecht.
Jerry was a great person, husband and father, whose generosity of soul allowed us to know him as an educator and community leader.
Our loss is and will be felt today, tomorrow and in the years ahead.
It is our duty to honor Jerry's legacy by continuing to advocate for the relevance of art, history and culture in our lives and community.
We will miss his counsel, intelligence and affable personality.
Please help me express my condolences to his grieving family.
Lee Davis
President
The Museum of the San Fernando Valley
