CHERISHING OUR VALLEY 2013
Admitting my age, when I was a boy there were long lanes of eucalyptus, pepper, deodors and palms throughout the San Fernando Valley. Some stands of those trees still grace our communities today. The dusty country roads have long since disappeared as are most of the root-invasive pepper trees. For friends in the Midwest or relatives in Pennsylvania, pepper trees in the 1920s and 30s would have been incredibly romantic.
