No one, ostensibly, has broader and deeper knowledge of the origins and history of the film industry in Los Angeles than Marc Wanamaker. His expertise also extends to the history of Los Angeles itself, where he is active in preservation organizations.
From anecdotes to in-depth tales, it’s entertainment itself as Wanamaker relates the beginnings of the great studios and the colorful people who put the Southern California film industry on the map…all just in time for the 83rd Academy Awards celebration.
An accomplished film historian and consultant, archivist, author, lecturer and instructor, Marc weaves it all together with wit and wisdom for an evening of rapt storytelling while projecting priceless images from his world class archives. We are especially pleased and privileged to welcome Marc to help launch the Museum’s third season of our Speaker Series.
