18th annual Archives Bazaar another smash hit at USC Doheny Library

Thank you to all that visited The Museum SFV table at the 18th annual Archives Bazaar - one of the best events all year for people who appreciate history and culture.

Many thanks to LA as Subject, USC and all of the staff and volunteers to pulled off another terrific event.

Old and new friends of The Museum stopped by to say hello and chat about SFV history.

Old friend and western film archivist and author Marc Wanamaker holding one book on Hollywood's Trains and Trolleys. He donated a copy to The Museum SFV.

His latest book coming out next month is on Hollywood on the Santa Monica Beach.

1965 letter to actor Anthony Quinn on guidance as a nominee for the Academy Awards®.

Historical Society of La Crescenta  - offering one of many books, the Great Crescenta Valley Flood of 1934. This flood spurred the Army Corps of Engineers to begin working on flood channels throughout the region.

The United States Army Corps of Engineers is an engineer formation of the United States Army that has three primary mission areas: Engineer Regiment, military construction, and civil works.

10-14-23 FREE Latino Heritage Day - Music Dance Art Culture Food Fun - event for the entire family

The Museum of the SFV will stage its 2nd annual Latino Heritage Day this fall.

Date:        Saturday, October 14th 

Time:       11:00 am - 4:00 pm 

Location:  Rancho Cordillera del Norte and Museum space in Northridge, CA.

Cost:         Free admission for visitors

Latino Heritage will be recognized and promoted via Live Music, dance performances by youth and adults, readings of historical figures, art activities for youth and fun!  

 This day is part of National Hispanic Heritage Month that runs from September 15th - October 15th each year.
