The Museum of the San Fernando Valley is excited to be hosting its 3rd annual Pan-Asian Pacific Arts & Cultural Festival on May 19, 2024 in Northridge.

The Museum is pleased to be promoting and celebrating Asian-American Pacific-Islander Heritage month.

Jackie Langa, President of The Museum, explains: “It is The Museum’s role to give a central voice to the distinctive histories of all populations in the SFV whose cultures, races, religions and ideas contributed to the Valley’s character, growth and development.”

This festive and family friendly event will celebrate many diverse Asian cultures through their art, music, dance, food and more at The Museum location on the grounds of the beautiful Rancho Cordillera del Norte in Northridge. 

Festival highlights will include vendors’ booths, food trucks, demonstrations, onstage entertainment, children’s art workshops and the opportunity to visit the Museum and its exhibits. Visitors will be offered an immersive experience.

Chatsworth BlockFest- Sat April 13th - 10:00 am - 6:00 pm; The Museum SFV will have booth - come on by -enjoy

Come on out and visit us at our booth at 2024 BlockFest in Chatsworth.

BlockFest will take place ON Devonshire St., between De Soto Ave. and Variel Ave., and will include two city blocks of 150+ vendors selling their wares, a carnival, live DJ, a cocktail lounge, famous show cars, and LIVE professional wrestling!

The Public Art Initiative PAI, a division of The Museum of the San Fernando Valley, features Charles Sherman (Facebook- Charles Sherman Infinity Sculpture and Design). 

Learn about the art and inspiration behind Sherman's pieces and lose yourself in the impossible! He will showcase his mind-bending Mobius strip-inspired sculptures, where art and geometry meet. See work exhibited and learn about other works in the San Diego Museum of Art, the Mobile Museum of Art, the Golda Meir Center, and our very own The Museum of the San Fernando Valley, and with a past exhibition at The Museum of Contemporary Art.

Black History Month Celebration- Feb 25th - 11:00-4:00pm; FREE event; Northridge; speakers, history, music, entertainment fun-please join us

 On Sunday, February 25th, the Pacoima Historical Society is collaborating with The

Museum of the San Fernando Valley
to present a Black History Month celebration.

Both organizations are inviting valley residents to come experience the visual and oral

history of African Americans in the San Fernando Valley.

 


The event will feature entertainment, with The Museum Board Member SFV, event committee member, DJ/MC Eric Stuart hosting the festivities. There will be large photo exhibits, some vendors, and food. It promises to be an educational and enlightening time for all.

City of Los Angeles Councilman, District 12, John Lee*

Mel Wilson, Civic Leader; former candidate for Los Angeles Mayor; Realtor

2024 The Museum Associates Orientation Program


The Museum Associates program at The Museum of the San Fernando Valley trains volunteers that act as docents for two and three-hour segments on one or more days/month during Museum hours, at special events, and tours to educate and promote the history, arts and culture of the San Fernando Valley.
