NORTHRIDGE100 TOUR CELEBRATES THE AREA'S RICHNESS

2010 -- The Year of Valley Treasures -- Northridge100
Director of Tours for The Museum of the San Fernando Valley, Richard Hilton greets in-tourists arriving at historic Devonshire House.
As part of the Northridge100 Centennial Celebration, a special tour took place on March 13, 2010. Sponsored by Los Angeles City Councilman Greig Smith and The Museum of the San Fernando Valley, the tour began at 9:30 am the historic Devonshir House in Northridge Park.
The Devonshire House located at 8300 Lemarsh Avenue in Northridge, has strong associations with the actress Carol Lombard. It may be that Lombard, one of America's most important actors of her time, bought the house but decided to wait until she moved in with her new husband Clark Gable to a larger ranch house nearby.
Father Anthony, Pastor of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, at 9501 Balboa Boulevard, greets the Northridge100 bus tour on the steps of one of the San Fernando Valley's most beautiful buildings.
Mosaics and stained glass windows enhance the splendid interior of Saint Nicholas Church.
Special thanks for this Northridge100 Anniversary Tour goes to the Tour Committee: Jack Chen, Jeanne Leventis, Ronald Kulberg and Diane Ohanesian.
