STUDENTS IN THE 60s LEARNED PHILANTHROPY IN COLLEGE

Students in the 1960s were taught that philanthropic work was part of their entry into the adult world. Organizations such as college clubs expected their members to participate in charitable activities. Here, in this promotional photograph for the Heart Fund, Pierce College students (l to r) Tony Simmers, Robert Marko and LeRoy Hunt pose with the Heart Fund poster child at the historic Caballero Country Club.
