STUDIO CITY HILLS IN 1966

CHERISHING OUR VALLEY    2013

In 1966, the estimated population was 192,300. Here much of the carea is seen from the hills of Studio City. The region had 19 public schools and 11 private and parochial schools.

Follow the center crease above the freeway at the top. Click on the photo to enlarge it, and you will see the spire and dome of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic church at Lankershim and Moorpark.

Great photo. However, seeing those houses on the hill reminds me that were I ever to live in such a one, I would insist on tile roofing and metal siding, for fire prevention. I'm afraid that asphalt roof tiles and stucco walls just don't protect as well.
