CHERISHING OUR VALLEY 2012
Museum Associate Bob Peppermuller has sent us two of the final
photographs of the historic Commonwealth Building on Lankershim in North
Hollywood. The structure failed to gain an historic monument status
from the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission. Closing the structure
as a Citibank branch, is the first step toward tearing down the Valley's
first high-rise commercial building and replacing it with an apartment complex.

This building, and it’s glass enclosed elevator, is featured in 1960’s television show Adam-12, episode “El Presidente”.
