CITY COUNCILMAN GRIEG SMITH INTERVIEWED BY THE MUSUEM OF THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY

DISCOVERING OUR VALLEY    2011                                 Northridge 100

In his final week in office, Los Angeles City Councilman Grieg Smith was interviewed for The Museum's Narrating Lives - Oral Histories of the San Fernando Valley. It was a great week for Grieg, striking out in new and exciting directions, and an important milestone for The Museum of the San Fernando Valley.
Councilman Smith has been a very  important friend to The Museum, trusting us as his ally in producing many of the events of the 100th Anniversary of Northridge and Porter Ranch, inclusion of The Museum Community in the efforts to resurrect the historic Oakridge Estate, and our organization of the first historic bus tour of Northridge. Grieg Smith understands the role  history and culture plays in the "sense of place" that brings about civic pride, enhances the quality of life in a community, and has practical economic rewards as well.

Congratulations Grieg Smith - The Museum is proud to have your personal story of Northridge as part of our "Narrating Lives - Oral Histories of the San Fernando Valley" effort.
