CHERISHING OUR VALLEY 2012
Early Spanish colonists in the San Fernando Valley named the far end of the San Fernando Valley for the wild gourds and pumpkins, the calabasas, that grew there. No city has a more appropriate celebration that the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival. Here are a few of my favorite photographs that I took of the event. (Click on images to enlarge them.)
Jake becomes Pumpkin Boy.
Reptile Man fascinates a crowd admirers.
California live oaks (los encinos) overlook the festival site.
