CHERISHING OUR VALLEY 2012
I keep learning more about the Birmingham Hospital complex in what is now Lake Balboa in the San Fernando Valley. Perhaps one of you car buffs will be able to date this postcard from the car at the left?
Administration Building and Nurses Quarters, Birmingham Veterans Administration Hospital - Historic Postcard - Gift to the Museum of the San Fernando Valley from Gary Fredburg 2012. (click on image to enlarge.)
"The center building immediately behind the flag pole and circle houses only part of the administrative offices of the hospital. About 300 nurses are housed in six other buildings of the type shown here."

What an interesting blog, introduced by a thought-provoking photo. The unusual wall painting of the dwellings is
also a strangely modern interpretation. Something like this hieroglyphic view of a park by Swiss painter Paul Klee, http://EN.WahooArt.com/A55A04/w.nsf/OPRA/

The image can be seen at wahooart.com who can supply you with a canvas print of it.
