A TIME TO BE THANKFUL - HATS OFF TO RANIA PALLAD

2009 The Year of Valley History
Child's Dream of a Home in the San Fernando Valley - Sun Valley Youth Arts Center.

My mom used to say when I felt low for some reason, "Just count your lucky stars!" My first piece of luck was growing up in the San Fernando Valley, surrounded by some of the most creative people in the world. The second is "how very lucky we all all to have the support and hard work of Rania Pallad, The Museum's Treasurer and Chair of our Ways and Means Committee. You will be amazed at all of the adventures that she has in store for 2010.
Rania would like to remind us all that it's the perfect time to make that all-important income tax deduction donation to The Museum.

Just re-elected Treasurer of The Museum of the San Fernando Valley, Rania Pallad of Tarzana wants everyone to know that your Museum is solvent. In this time of economic hardship, there will be no Museum layoffs, nor will we be accepting government bailouts unless we are asked to do so.
Seriously, in hard times, it is to your Museum's advantage to be without lots of overhead. You can help bring about a great Museum of history and culture for the San Fernando Valley by modest contributions. Volunteer for the civic betterment of the San Fernando Valley by contacting your Museum today: 818-347-9665.

Despite the burdens of her occupation and family, Rania Pallad made the lives of all of us in the San Fernando Valley better in 2008. Rania helped her Museum to obtain its Federal 501c3 status, served the Museum Community as our Treasurer, and worked tirelessly to bring quality history-based theatre to our city's school children.
Thanks Rania, your friends and colleagues are very grateful for all your help since 2005.

JUST IN CASE YOU FORGET WHY WE LOVE THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY

Southern California is one of the few Mediterranean climates in the world. These photos taken for The Museum of the San Fernando Valley were taken on Saturday January 26, 2008, from the balcony of the home of Rania Pallad and Willard Simms.

These photos are looking toward the North and East of the San Fernando Valley.

The San Fernando Valley deserves a great Museum of history and culture

Crochet and macrame were chiefly women's art before the modern era. Such practical arts were related to the knots made in fishing nets, and were an outgrowth of a seafaring culture.
