TONIGHT - 8/4/15 NATIONAL NIGHT OUT - ATTEND AN SFV EVENT

Tonight is a special one - we hope you can attend one of the many National Night Out events. Here is a list for the San Fernando Valley from the Daily News.

Public safety officials across the country are taking time to reach out to the communities they serve as part of Tuesday’s National Night Out.

Communities are holding block parties, barbecuing and organizing caravans around local neighborhoods, with police officers and firefighters bringing out SWAT equipment and fire trucks for the kids to explore. And homeowners are encouraged to leave their porch lights on to promote neighborhood safety.

Held on the first Tuesday in August annually since 1984, National Night Out is organized by the National Association of Town Watch, a nonprofit crime-prevention organization.
