City Championship Flyer - Gift to The Museum of the San Fernando Valley from Gary Fredburg 2008
The 16 year old boys who took to the football field at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in November 1938 are 86 years old today. In April Benito Mussilini ordered the fascist attack on Ethiopia and the football players would graduate just as the Second World War would begin. Just as Glendale boys from Hoover and Glendale High School would play their championship game in Pasadena, the residents of the San Fernando Valley did not let political boundaries restrict their lives. The Museum of the San Fernando Valley serves Glendale, Eagle Rock as well as Canoga Park and Calabasas.
