Hansen is a botanical artist. Her art is known internationally by its Japanese title, Oshibana. Translated, it means pressed plants and the practice of painting with petals. She employs many botanical materials for these two-dimensional art pieces, including flowers, leaves and even fresh produce. Influenced by her career as a creative director in the fashion side of the advertising world, she treats these pressed botanicals as if they were velvets, laces or silks to create many of her figural pieces and still lives. Join us on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 2pm - 3pm to learn more about her artwork.
