I, Douglas Chapman, lived at the McKinnley Home For Boys, for half a year, in the late 1940s or 1950. We were treated well, but I was lonely. The scar of abandonment there by my mother has never left me. Her explanation: she "couldn't handle me" while my father was working his first two-year contract for ARAMCO in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia.
