Gerald Fecht, Ph.D. Founder of The Museum passes away

It is with a heavy, heavy heart that the Board of Directors of The Museum of the San Fernando Valley notifies the museum and civic communities that Gerald "Dr. Jerry" Fecht, Ph.D. passed away yesterday.

From his wife Janne, he passed away from complications of congestive heart failure and amyliodosos.

Amyloidosis is a group of diseases in which abnormal proteins, known as amyloid proteins, accumulate in organs such as the heart, the kidneys, the nervous system or the gastrointestinal tract.

We will notify folks of any service information. The Museum will be planning one or more special events to spread the cheer on his wonderful life and on how many people he touched as a professor and leader of The Museum.

Please feel free to offer your thoughts, condolences and memories by commenting below.

Many more photos to come too.
